The officer may have cut the tie off if I had asked. They used to store and return weapons in neat, padded plastic evidence bags.

True. We need more women to stand up for their rights. I encourage you to check a weapon in Glendale -- could be a handgun, or even a fixed-blade knife. Pick a library. Go in and ask where the weapon storage lockers are located that the City Manager, City Attorney and Chief of Police promised would be installed. Tell them you have a weapon to check. They'll call the cops, and you'll have to wait outside until an officer shows up. Politely comply with whatever procedure the officer use to disarm you. The cops are very tame now, as compared to the earlier checks. Be nice, so the cop wonders why he is having to disarm a nice lady who just wants to read a book.
To reclaim your weapon, go to the PD at 6835 N. 57th Dr. (right below Glendale Ave.). The entrance is on the west side of the building. Go in, walk down the hall, turn to your right and you will notice a phone on the wall just past the "Information" station. Pick it up and tell them you are there to reclaim a weapon you checked. They will bring it out to you. Then you can ask them to cut off any entanglements they may have attached.
