As far as I know there is no "entitlement" to registered voters. Individuals registered "Libertarian" and Meyers ruled that ALP represents those voters. The fact that some folks from ALP, Inc. asked/paid for people to ask individuals to so register is immaterial, IMHO.

Now, if ALP, Inc. were to ask for a 3-letter designation, petition as a new party, and register voters then they could become a political party.
