Greetings from TRAC -- The latest edition of TRAC's IRS site has just gone up with an important new finding -- analysis of IRS data indicates that many of the agency's techniques for persuading individuals and business to pay their taxes are faltering. Key computer matching programs are down, audits have dropped, collection activities are down, criminal and civil enforcement is way down. However, depending upon where you live, odds differ.
For further details about these finding and much more go to TRAC's home page at http://trac.syr.edu and click on IRS. Also note the links to TRAC's other free public sites on the DEA, ATF, INS, Customs, and FBI.
SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT. For those who want much more information about the operations of the federal government click on the TRACFED/FEDPROBE icon, the link for information about TRAC's subscription web service where users can order up the information they need on-line.
