Here is what Ron had to say. I CAN NOT BELIEVE THAT ANY ONE WHO CALLS THEMSELF A LIBERTARIAN WOULD SUPPORT ANY TAX.
BTW, when I finally run for some position and totally lose, it will because I will tell people I'm out to smash the state, and will vote to ruin whatever I'm on. Actually I did use this stratagy a few years ago and got 500+ votes for the UA senate, but lost by 200)

The first thing I would do is ask him why he did it. A lot of our elected officials have to make some really tough decisions on such things. Often it is a "compromise" againt what they really wanted to do. Did they perhaps pass less of an increase overall than the other commissioners wanted (and would have gotten without his vote) in exchange for him voting for the increase? Did he cut off some other type of increase that would have been worse. The best thing may be to look at what Michael Cloud calls the "Weight Watchers test." Put the council on a scale and see how much they weigh in pounds of ugly excess government. Then add the Libertarian and his *total* actions. If the scale moves toward freedom -- and the tyranny has lost weight -- your libertarian is, well, a Libertarian. In other words, did he exchange an unlibertarian vote for some greater Libertarian good elsewhere.
Good luck!
