A Statewide Conference to Build a Strategy to End the Death Penalty in Arizona

Keynote speaker:  HONORABLE ED LEYVA, former chair of the Arizona Board of
Executive Clemency will speak about his journey from supporter to opponent
of the death penalty.

Opening speaker:  HONORABLE ART HAMILTON, former minority leader of the
Arizona House of Representatives will speak bout legislative strategies to
end Arizona's death penalty.

Other workshops will focus on Arizona's campaign calling for a moratorium
on the death penalty, problems with the death penalty from the point of
view of the judiciary, a murder victim family member for abolition, and
organizing the secular and religious communities for abolition.

Co-sponsors of this event include:  Coalition of Arizonans to Abolish the
Death Penalty, Sanctity of Life: People Against Executions (SOLPAE);
Arizona Attorneys for Criminal Justice and Arizonans for a Moratorium on
Executions.
