Bob put it best,... they want to Federalize Freedom. Hell, Liz may be even more accurate in the Socializing of Freedom Effort. No good will come of these efforts (even though they are very unlikely to get any support from the legislature unless the legislature sees it to be in their interest to have "Real" political libertarians that will compromise to get even more votes from them while willingly taking public money to make their life even more difficult (from their perspective).
I say it now, so that I can once again claim "I told you so" status later,... The Schmorg will lose ground as effective tools for freedom and will see only a short term spike in attention, at best, for all of their statist efforts. The retirement money that these people are hoping to cash in on isn't going to be ble to be a long term cash cow for them. I know they would willingly take on the reputations as statist for the security of a year or two's salary, but they don't see the road ahead and how if they are even very successful, there will be others even more statist that will rush in to take their place. Then they'll be fighting battles from both sides. The Libertarian Wing will be making fun of all of the statist libertarians and their efforts to out screw each other while the Schmorg will also have to contend with professional political profiteers that will have the support of the legislative machine. These people may not understand that living by the statist sword means that that is often how you get gutted in the end.
Soooo,... we just keep doing what we are doing by publically oposing their statism in the name of libertarianism and enjoy the entertainment.
