Hi! Welcome to my Scripture Page. I hope it offers some encouragement to you! May God use it in your life. Rock on and stay in God's word!
"And we know all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to his purpose." Romans 8:28 (KJV Study Bible) To me, this means that if you love God, that all things will work out for good, even though you don't think they can. So, if you are in a difficult situation like I am, God can use this to comfort you. Just remember, you have to choose to love Him for all things to work out for good. And it is according to His purpose, not our purpose. So continue to seek and love God, and know he will bring victory in your life.
"Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For everything in the world---the cravings of sinful man, the lust of his eyes and the boasting of what he has and does---comes not from the Father, but from the world. The world and its desires pass away, but the man who does the will of God lives forever." 1 John 2:15-17 (NIV) This means to me that if you look to the world to satisfy your desires , it won't work. You will never be satisfied. Sin is only pleasurable for a season. Each time we allow God to fill the voids of life instead of looking to the world, our trust in Him increases--but if we don't release our grasping hands and turn them plams up-- God can't fill them. We need to let go of the world and let God have His way. Christians that love the world lose the enjoyment of the Father's love and the desire to do His will. Christians that love the Lord and do the will of God and obey Him will have eternal life with Him. God created us to love Him; this is our purpose in life.
Worldliness is not just the way we might behave or the places we go or the people we hang out with or the activities we enjoy, worldiness is also the attitude of your heart. What values are most important to you? Do your actions reflect the world's values, or God's values?
"I can do all things through Christ who strengtheth me." Philippians 4:13 (KJV) This means to me that you can do anything that God wants you to do. What he wants you to do might be challenging, but if you ask for His strength, He will see you through. He will provide the strength you need to do His will. |
