| Parents, A new year has begun and we are ready for first grade! In first grade we lay the foundation for reading, writing and math skills. Your child will begin to take responsibility for his or her own learning through nightly homework, AR, performance assessments and many other activities. We are here to teach, guide and nurture our students into successful young learners. Please support your child by joining us for First Grade Orientation, Tuesday, Aug. 11th at 6:00. We will discuss routines and procedures and share what we expect in 1st grade. We will begin our year with a funfilled Bear unit. Your child will bring their teddy bear to school for many learning activities, even a teddy bear picnic and sewing our own teddy bears. We look forward to getting to know each and every one of you!
