Rules For Weyrlings

NO FOOLING AROUNDDon't let a Weyrling Master's pleasant attitude fool you. As you all will learn in the coming days, they can be a bit hard. If someone's life is on the line, he/she can be the meanest person you'd ever come across. He/she will ground Weyrlings if he/she feels it necessary. So, unless you privately arrange something with the WeyrlingMaster staff and BOD for a necessary plot, we may react differently to a prank or joke from a Weyrling than we would to a Candidate. We like jokes, just arrange them ahead of time. As you can see, however, the Candidate Master is particularly humorless.

CREATIVITYPlease, don't be afraid to join in any try something within the rules. If you have a question as to whether something will work, let the BOD and your Candidate or Weyrling Master know privately. We'll answer as soon as possible. Just send us what you would have written... in the same format you would write it publicly. We'll consult and let you know if changes need to be made.

DISCUSS THE RULESIf you don't agree with a rule, or a warning, let the BOD & CM/WLM know. We'll discuss it, and see exactly what can be changed to make the system work for everyone. Some rules are permanent, but it doesn't mean you can't try. If you don't know a rule, but you think it may be one, or should be one, let us know!! We are willing to discuss these, and possibly revamp them.

NO INJURY/ DANGER RULENo killing off a Persona or NPC that isn't your own creation. In some cases you may get the other controller's permission, but please allow a BOD member in on it, or there might be a mess. If you are leaving the Weyr, please let the BOD know them before killing a weyrling or candidate, so the lists may be updated. NO putting a character PC or NPC in the way of harm, and NO injuring a character, without considering the consequences. Remember, Dragonets are fragile, especially the wings, so think before you write.

CLASS DIFFERENCESWeyrlingMaster controllers may do their classes differently. If you wish to know their quirks, feel free to email them.

Rules For Writers

CANDIDATE GUIDEFollow the candidate guide rules before Impressing your dragon. Do not abuse others who don't Impress, and don't abuse or even think of abusing the eggs in any way. Visiting and touching eggs may only take place with the controller of the queen's prior approval.

DISOBEDIENCEWhen we put something in Bold in the lesson, pay close attention to it. If that part is disobeyed, there will be penance to pay! We mean it. Our staff does not take deliberate disobedience well at all.

THE FAMOUS NO-NO RULEWeyrlings: NO kissing, holding, or any other act related to SEXUAL encounters. Sympathy is fine, we understand that... but it cannot go further. No SLOW dances without prior approval. FRIENDSHIPS are allowed, as we need friends, but you will not be able to further a romantic involvement, as your weyrling will be too busy working and training, as well as too physically drained, to try. It can also be detrimental to a developing dragonet.

THE NO LEAVING RULECandidates and Weyrlings are not to leave the Weyr at any time, under any circumstances, without three things: A) an approved time off, B) another, mature, person, not weyrling or candidate, per weyrling or candidate group, and C) express permission from the Weyrling Master and/or Weyrwoman/ WeyrWoman 2nd.

NO TRICKS OR HOTDOGGING RULENo trying something before you've been taught. This includes flying, riding a dragon, flaming, betweening, chewing firestone, timing, and other training areas. It is not limited to the above list, so if you wish to try something new, drop us a line and we'll let you know if you can. Anyone caught breaking this rule will risk loosing their dragon immediately, if the trick can be harmful enough, or permanently injuring the dragon.

THE NO TORMENTING RULEYes, jokes and teasing can be fun in limited, good natured ways, but some people go too far with or without meaning to. So, we say this: No tormenting those with any sort of limitation or restriction, both authority-wise or health-wise (mental, physical, etc). NO picking on lower classmen or candidates, especially about training or lack of dragon. NO deliberately causing more work for someone else.

THE NO DARING RULENO daring a younger classman, fellow classman, candidate, or even an older classmate to do something without the WLM's permission. NO daring someone to do something they haven't tried before, especially where it would concern danger or injury.

Thank you all for your patience. So maybe this is too long to tattoo to your buddy's head. But if they're tall enough you can tattoo it to their back instead. See you on the Sands!
