The Heroic Legend Of Arislan

Is an anime series based on a collection of books by Yoshiki Tanaka.
It tells the story (legend if you will) of a young prince
who struggles to free his country from itīs enemies, all
while trying to keep his position as crownprince. During this
demanding struggle he gains loyal friends who stand by him.
Originally titled "Arslaan Senki" in Japan, The series includes
4 oav:s and as a manga 20 parts. The anime will probably
never get finished as it was deemed too demanding for the
cute-loving Japanese audience. The story has a sequel written
by Tanaka, that takes place a few years later. The manga
includes only the first part and the oav:s end in the middle.

The character design is by Sachiko Kamimura and I recommend finding
her artbook Gaadian, because her images are stunning!!
