Mu Alpha Theta

The purpose of Mu Alpha Theta is to promote a greater knowledge of mathematics. The club enables students to participate in many challenging competitions against other schools each semester.

• Mu Alpha Theta Executive Board Elections for the 2002-2003 school year will be held during April.  We will be electing a president, vice=presiden t, secretary, and treasurer.

  THE POINT SYSTEM
  Attending Initiation:	6 points
  Each Contest:	4 points
  Award in a contest:	2 points*
  Selling candy:	2 points
  Each meeting:	1 point
  *Note: Limit 2 points per contest

  Members must earn 20 points by April 1, 2001 to be in good standing. Mu Alpha Theta expects all members to be in good standing by the end of the year.

  Members who have earned their 20 point requirement will be eligible for the following:

  • to be elected into the executive board
  • to have their math AP tests paid for
  • to gain scholarships
  • to receive honor cords (for graduating seniors)
  • to be accepted into the Mu Alpha Theta National Chapter

  MEETINGS

  All meetings are held at 7:00 AM every other Thursday in the meeting area of the practice gym. Watch and listen to the announcements in case of a meeting change. The membership forms and the $5.00 dues must be turned in by the second Mu Alpha Theta meeting on September 14, 2001 or brought to A208 or A213.
