Shell Memories |
I picked up a sea shell Laying on the shoreline And sensed the many stories It wanted me to tell It knew the dolphins smile That welcomed every morning Swimming in its essence Laughing all the while It knew the feeling, ocean Her mysteries and passions Flowing through all channels Sharing every emotion It knew the seagulls yearning To soar among the eagles A search for higher purpose In a world forever turning It knew the bright light streaming Aglow through rippling waters As the night awoke its keeper Within his lighthouse dreaming Dan Pettit (c) 2002 |
