YLANG YLANG

Cananga odorata

Background: Ylang Ylang, ‘flower or flowers’ comes from the Annonaceae family, and is native to the Philippines and the Far East. The oil is obtained by steam distillation of the flowers, producing different grades of oil. The first phase of distillation process produces a nicer aroma or perfume.

Properties: Aphrodisiac, euphoric, antiseptic, antidepressant, calming but gently stimulating to the circulatory system and nervous system.

Physical Uses: High Blood Pressure, dry skin, oily hair, uterine tonic, balancing to hormones and digestive complaints.

Emotional Uses: Sensual stimulant, insomnia, tension, depression, panic, shock, bereavement, guilt, jealousy.
