Background: Rosemary is from the Labiate family, and it’s name comes from the Latin ‘ros maris’ which means ‘dew of the sea’. Rosemary is native to the Mediterranean, especially costal areas, but is now cultivated and grown throughout the world. The oil is produced by steam distillation of the leaves and the flowering tops.
Properties: Antiseptic, analgesic, anti-rheumatic, antispasmodic, decongestant, diuretic, cerebral and general stimulant.
Precautions: Do not use if pregnant, or suffer from High Blood Pressure or Epilepsy. It is also advisable not to use if you are taking homeopathic remedies.
Physical Uses: Low Blood Pressure (hypotension), colds and flu, lymphatic congestion, poor circulation, digestive disorders, fluid retention, cellulite, rheumatism, arthritis, headaches, muscular aches and pains, alopecia, dandruff, congested skin, period pain and scanty periods, stimulates the memory.
Emotional Uses: Mental fatigue, poor concentration/memory, lethargy, nervous tension.
