Background: Orange essential oil is obtained by expression of the orange peel. There are two types of orange oil, sinensis produces sweet orange oil, and amara produces bitter orange oil. Sweet Orange Oil has a milder effect and is more suitable for use on children. Oranges are thought to have originated in China, although they are now found throughout the world in hot climates.
Properties: Antispasmodic, antidepressant, antiseptic, carminative, sedative.
