episode seven: a guardian of old

It is now day time, and Pundit is displaying some of its abilities to the locals; it is creating ice out of its breath. Everyone is amazed, and Lieza
smiles on.

Dr Vilmar on the other hand, is sitting at his veranda and deep in thought. He is remembering his time at the White House and all the children
that they experimented on. His face is one of deep regret and pain. Still in the past, an alarm goes of, and one of the rooms is on fire, the one
where Elk is staying. Vilmar is shocked. Then, all of a sudden, he jumps out of the window, not being able to stand it any longer, and falls
down into the ocean.

He is drawn back to the present by the crowd watching Pundit, and sits there, just watching the group.

Elk is fixing the ship while Lea sits beside him and gossips. She is talking about the Dr and how she thinks it's so stubborn of him for not
helping, but Elk contradicts her by saying that he is just being cautious. He pats her on the head and says that she shouldn't talk behind
people's backs, and that she was a good girl, wasn't she? Lea blushes. She goes on to talk how he wasn't born on the island, and there
was something unpleasant in his past, and that was why he came to the island, to escape it all. Lea also wasn't the Dr's grand-daughter.

They then start talking about being a Hunter. Elk says that it isn't always tough, and Lea asks him if he has ever killed anyone. Elk looks at
her and replies with no, he hasn't. He only catches them. He then pokes her head in affection. She then starts to say something, but is
interrupted by Lieza who is carrying a basket of fruit. Lieza seems all bright and happy and comments on how nice everyone is. She tells
Elk how much a hit Pundit is with everyone, and asks Lieza if she wants to have desert later. Lea on the other hand seems very disgruntled,
and talks back. Lieza again tries to console her, but Lea ends up running away. Lieza, still smiling, gives Elk the fruit and goes off to go
shopping. Elk, now all by himself, mutters and sighs as he sees that the ship isn't getting any better. Suddenly, Lea is back asks if Lieza is
Elk's wife. Elk is embarrassed, and asks, why?

Now it's night, and tries to start up the ship, but with no luck. It's still broken. Lieza joins him, and tells him to start again in the morning. Elk
eventually agrees, and they start walking back to the house along the shore. Lieza worries about Shu, but of course, Elk reassures her.
They then watch the starts together.

Morning again, and Lea is telling him a secret. There are parts (mechanical that is) on the island, but it has to be kept a secret because
children aren't allowed in the caves where they are. Lea goes on to tell him that she has been there, and that she wants to help Elk. He asks
her why are there mechanical parts in the cave but Lea doesn't know. However, there is a legendary demon god who is supposed to be
there, but really, there is no one there. Elk tells her to lead her there for there was nothing else he can do. Lea is excited, and asks if it
could be just a secret between them, and Elk agrees. Lea is extremely happy.

However, it seems that Elk told Lieza, for all three are walking along a path in the jungle to the cave. Lea is not happy. As they get to the
cave, it seems to be covered up with rock, but Elk uses his flame to break down the wall. As they are walking through, they idly chatter on
how Lea used to play here and was never afraid. Suddenly, Lieza hears something and stops. She tells them that something is coming.

Lea, annoyed at Lieza, keeps walking but stops for she right in front of her is a wall. She comments on how there used to be a gate there,
where they used to go in. Lieza runs towards the group, and says that there is definitely something coming, and they all wait in anticipation.
The, a huge monster with an a massive mouth full of sharp teeth runs towards them. Lea is incredibly scared, and Elk begins to summon
his flame. Lieza stops him, and begins to talk to the monster. She tells it that it is a good one, and to come out. Suddenly, the huge thing puffs
up into smoke, revealing a little cute dog looking monster with a spike on its head. Elk and Lea are stunned.

Suddenly, a voice out of the shadows talks to them. It is ominous, and demands to know who obstructs its sleep. The little monster runs away.
The voice tells the trio that it is a protector God who is of old. Lea starts crying for it is really a demon god, and then the wall that was behind
them opens up, and a mechanic arm grabs Lea.

A red laser light flashes from the darkness, and the voice keeps on talking: "One who would awaken me from keep rest. One who would
break the ancient seal. My name is Ziefbekt. Are you the assistants of my master, the Hero of Long Duration? Or are you of the group of
fools with the hearts of darkness, who are of the castle ignoramus (???) Answer me!"

Lea is screaming out that she doesn't know what the thing is talking about, and then it asks her about the other two. There are some lasers
going off, Elk and Lieza fall to the floor, the god lets go of Lea, and it asks what happened in some battle, Lea talks about some fairy tale, the
god seems happy enough, and then another wall opens. Elk runs in and is amazed for it is a room full of spare parts. He asks if it's ok to
take some, and the god replies that they can to whatever. It seems all lonely, and Lea looks at it for a bit. Then as the trio are out in the open
air with a wagon of parts, it seems that Lea has decided to take the mechanical god with her.

The ship is now up and running, and Elk says his good byes to the people of the island. As he says goodbye to Lea, she looks miserable
and runs towards Elk and hugs him while she's crying. Elk pats her head and says thankyou. The ship then leaves the island. As Lea is
looking up at the flying ship, she comments on how awesome Elk is, especially with his fire. The Dr then realizes that Elk was definitely the
boy from the White House. Elk and Lieza then head back to Claudius.

However, all is not well. Back in Claudius at the Hunter's Guild, a new person is named wanted. For the crime of kidnapping and confinement,
Elk is charged.
