episode five: the criminal

This episode opens with the Silver Noah flying through the air. Pogo, one of Arc's crew, is playing a soothing melody on the harp, and
everyone on board is listening. Then Chongara (the captain), comments on Galliano and co. They are giving the crew too much trouble
(not danger wise, but that they won't stop with the conspiracies). As they approach shooting range, Arc gives the word to attack. The statue
of the Goddess crumbles down.

Elk, watching the defence attack on the Silver Noah, makes up his mind about confronting Arc. As he runs off, we see that the firing on the
Silver Noah does no damage to the ship. There is again a flashback with Elk screaming as his father died, and the Silver Noah landing.
Elk's resolve is hardened. Shu and Lieza chase after the boy, but are stopped as the place starts crumbling down around them.

Meanwhile, Galliano and Clive are in a car, driving into a tunnel. Clive apologizes for not uncovering Arc's plan, but he did not think that Arc
would attack from the first city district. However, the mayor mentions that there have been a series of errors from Clive, which is quite unlike
him (Clive). Again, he apologizes, and as there is a close up of the two, the mayor looks slightly suspicious.

Lieza and Shu are currently searching for Elk on the pier, but to no avail. Another cliff tumbles down, and Shu, concerned about her safety,
goes off and finds a boat for them to escape. Lieza, however, is concerned about Elk, but Shu tells her that he would be fine.

Again, missiles are shot at the Silver Noah and still no effect. It then retaliates, sending out its beam. Inside the ship, they are slightly shaken,
but are fine. There is another scene change, showing a boat pulling out. Shu and Lieza hurry along and get on, but as she sees another
blast, she jumps off the boat and runs back in search for Elk.

Tanks are now shooting at the Silver Noah, but Arc is still calm. But then he sends out his crew, Tosh (the big red headed fellow) and
Gougen (the old wizard looking man) out to fight. Now, the car with the mayor and Clive tries to escape by travelling on the bridge. Things
have gotten very quiet outside. As they leave the tunnel, they are suddenly stopped by a mountain of crushed tanks, and also the collapse
of the bridge. The old man Gougen is sitting on top of the pile, staring up at the sky. He gives a smart arse comment. A man who is crushed
under the tanks tells the mayor that they were all destroyed before he dies, and in addition, the driver of the car gets a message that all of
offensive troops were entirely destroyed. As the mayor and co try to escape in their car, Arc begins to land.

Elk on the other hand, is running towards the Silver Noah and trying to chase down Arc. The car with the mayor travels through the tunnel
again, but as they go out into the opening, they are welcomed by the Silver Noah. It then shoots a beam at the entrance of the tunnel,
causing it to fall and stopping all chances of escape. Lieza is now still searching for Elk, and runs towards the Silver Noah as well, but from
behind.

The door of the ship opens, and Arc is revealed. As he is pulled down by a rope, all eyes are on him. Arc then tells the mayor that he is
there to stop him from doing anything he likes, and that he trounces, deceives and injures the hearts of the people. It can no longer be
allowed. However, the conversation is interrupted by a cry. Elk now confronts his enemy. The two stare at each other, but then Elk initiates
his attack. Arc easily dodges, and as they fight, the mayor and Clive start to escape. However, as Clive presses the button for elevator
(seems that there is one next to the tunnel opening), the lift is already moving up. Someone is in there.

Elk is easily beaten by Arc, and as the door of the elevator opens, Lieza is revealed. Elk again yells at Arc, but suddenly hears Lieza's
scream. She is being held by the man in black who was with the mayor. Elk then notices the girl and screams out her name, but the mayor
and co escape into the lift with Lieza as their hostage. The man in black throws a grenade at Elk and Arc before the doors close. Elk, seeing
that the elevator is going to the very top of the island, then spins around to look for Arc. But it seems that Arc has escaped.

The mayor is now in a building which is on top of the island with Lieza. He tells her that he will not harm her, because she is an important
piece of experiment. Now, Elk is also on top of the island, and hears Lieza's scream. Looking up, he sees Lieza on top of the building with
the mayor, Clive and the man in black. I should also mention that she is tied up. More aircrafts approach the island, and Elk runs into the
building, trying to get to the top.

One of the air carriers land. Lieza is being pushed onto the ramp to get onto the blimp (???), but struggles to get away. Suddenly, they hear
a footstep behind them. Lieza, thinking that it is Elk, cries out his name happily. However, since he does not answer, everyone looks closer.
It is not Elk, but instead, Arc. The mayor puts a gun to Lieza's head, and commands his man in black to 'do it'. The man in black takes a pill,
and transforms into a Chimera.

As the Chimera attacks Arc, Arc only dodges. After a while, Elk also joins everyone on top of the building. As he cries out Arc's name, Arc
grabs onto one of the Chimera's arm. Lieza then cries out Elk's name, and he looks over to her. However, the Chimera builds a fire/ light
in his mouth and Arc is still holding onto the arm. Elk looks back at Arc and they make eye contact. The Chimera then throws its flame, but
as it does that, at the same time, Elk throws his spear looking weapon at the mayor's hand, and Lieza is saved. She then runs towards Elk.
Arc at this point in time is holding back the flame with his other hand. He then builds up the flame and let it backfire onto the Chimera, and the
Chimera then burns to death. Nevertheless, Clive and Galliano escape in their airship carrier.

The Silver Noah then comes down from the sky. Arc is about to leave but Elk makes another challenge, saying that it was Arc who killed his
family and destroyed his village. Elk then lunges towards Arc with his spear and stabs. We then seen droplets of blood fall onto the ground,
and even though it's Arc's, it's nothing critical. Arc is holding the blade of his spear in his hand. Elk again accuses Arc of killing his family, but
Arc answers back that he is mistaken. He will eventually know the truth. Arc then releases of the spear head, and walks back to his ship.
Being a bit shocked, Elk drops his spear, but continues with the accusations. Arc by now is being taken up onto the Silver Noah by a rope,
but Elk has not finished with him. Elk begins to build a fire, but is stopped by Lieza as she grabs onto him. He screams at her to let go, but
Lieza tells him that Arc isn't a bad person. Elk pushes the girl away and runs to the edge of the building. He watches the Silver Noah
disappear into the sky. Lieza, who is standing behind him, kindly says his name, and as he looks at her, he sees Lieza holding his spear.
Apologizing for his actions, Elk looks down at the ground all depressed. Lieza walks over to Elk, and as she gives him his spear, a plane
appears in the background. Inside is Shu and Pundit. Elk runs towards the plane, wanting to follow Arc in it, and Lieza screams out his name.
