episode four: the pale blue goddess
The
story starts off with Lieza sitting in a room, staring outside
the window. She notices fireworks exploding in the sky, and
children on the
street rushing towards them. She does not know what is going on,
but is envious. On the other hand, Elk and Shu walk into their
Hunter
Guild main office. The other Hunters again make fun of Elk, but
are interrupted by Elk slamming his hands on the table. However,
it is not
about the Hunters, but instead that Pundit's warrant has been
called off. Elk asks old man Bibiga who was it who called the
search, but the
boss obviously does not say (he ain't allowed to). Elk storms
off.
However,
old man Bibiga gives some advice to Shu: they should leave,
because the higher ups are asking for records on the hijacking
incident. They want to know who else was with Cougar on the ship.
[opening song]
It
starts off with Elk and Shu discussing their situation. They had
lost their lead to the perpetrators, since they withdrew the
search for Pundit.
Elk tries to grab Shu's attention, but Shu seems to distracted by
a passing air blimp. Later, the two are at an air station,
standing next to a
wire fence. Shu now understands more of the conspiracy. Lieza's
name was not on the list of passengers, but her room was VIP.
Also, there
were two mummified monsters in the room beside hers. On the news,
however, they said that there were only three victims from the
flight
crew and the Hunter Cougar. The two mummified corpses were not
mentioned, and in addition, the Chimera Afred. According to the
reports,
Arc was responsible, but it couldn't be possible. Shu then says
that something of this nature is out of their hands. Elk looks up
at his mentor
and asks if he is bailing out. Shu just chuckles. They then go
back home.
Lieza
is cooking in the kitchen, but suddenly, someone comes into the
apartment. But it isn't the enemy, only Elk and Shu. As Elk walks
in, he
finds no one there, and becomes worried. As he rushes into the
kitchen, he sees Pundit. The monster then walks off, revealing a
Lieza
hiding on the ground with a knife in her hands. Embarrassed by
the incident, she changes the topic and tells the two to eat.
The
two then eat quietly, with Lieza watching closely. She inquires
about the food, and gets a good answer. However, Elk seems
distracted
as he looks outside the window, which brings the attention of
Shu. Lieza then tells them if they want they can have seconds,
but they both
stand up, indicating that they were not going to. Lieza looks
down depressed. Nevertheless, Shu tells her that the hunt for
Pundit is off, and
that she is free. Lieza becomes all happy again, and the boys
tell her that they want to give her a present for her troubles, a
new dress. So
they all leave the apartment in a taxi and go to the dress
makers. However, they are followed by a white car.
Now
we cross to Clive and Mayor Galliano. Today is the day of the
dedication ceremony. Nothing has been heard from by Arc, and
there
have been no sightings of him as yet. All precaution has been
undertaken by Clive to ensure that nothing is to go wrong. He
then places a
jar on the table filled with yellow pills. It is medicine for the
mayor.
Lieza
at this point is trying on dresses with Elk and Shu waiting. The
men in black who are waiting in the white car keep an eye on the
shop.
They are waiting for the three to come out. However, it is been
too long since they went in. The evil men are now suspicious.
They leave
their car and rampage into the shop, hassling the serving woman.
One looks into the change room, and finds Lieza clothes discarded
on the
ground. As the camera zooms in, it shows a tracking device on the
girl's choker. The men have lost track of the girl. Running out
into the
alleyway, the look left and right, not finding any trace of their
prey. There is nothing they can do, so they go back to
headquarters.
Our
heroes are in a taxi, following the white car to try and get some
answers. But it seems to be leading them to the island where the
statue
of the Goddess is. Shu reassures Lieza, and apologizes that they
had to use her to get answers, but she does not seem to mind.
The
scene is now of a journalist reporting on the dedication ceremony
of the goddess of peace. The whole militia is protecting the
island, with
men guarding the perimeter, and aeroplanes hovering about. Now,
Mayor Galliano has arrived, and a little girl bearing roses runs
up to
him. She was one of the passengers of the recently hijacked ship,
and as the girl thanks him, the mayor is getting much more
publicity by it.
Shu,
Elk and Lieza are walking along, and Elk tells the girl to stay
by Shu. Grand music suddenly erupts, and the statue of the
goddess is
unveiled to the public. As the people cheer, the mayor gives an
evil smirk. Now he gives a speech, but as this happens, Elk is
watching
the comings and goings of the men dressed in black. They are
walking into a square that is surrounded by material, and so all
three peep
inside. However, it is empty. Trucks from the outside backup to
the material, and block all means of escape. It's a trap, and
they can't get out
Suddenly,
one truck backs into the square, and as the back door opens, many
men in black are revealed. The attention is now again on the
mayor and his speech. He talks about the hijacking, how it was
from Arc, and that they should take this opportunity to take a
moment in
silent prayer to the ones who died on the ship. As everyone falls
silent, the men in black take some yellow pills. Suddenly, a high
pitched
distorting sound fills the air, causing all the humans to hold
their heads in pain. The men in black just laugh, and they then
morph into
Chimera. Mayor Galliano and Clive are also not effected by the
sound that is coming from the sphere that the statue is holding
in her hands.
It is emitting a strange blue light that causes the sound, and
suddenly, out of the city district, a yellow beam strikes the
ball, shattering it.
Everything is back to normal.
As
sirens fill the air, another beam is fired, and the statue
crumbles to the ground. The head falls to the ground and lands
near Elk and co.
They are not harmed. Clive, whose expression is always
unreadable, takes the mayor to some shelter. However, Galliano
asks if it is him,
Arc. Clive gives a smile, and softly replies, yes, Arc has come.
The Silver Noah rises from the city district, looking very
ominous, and shoots
a third beam. Everything is white.
