The Family Motorcycle Club was created to offer group rides for the motorcycle enthusiasts who don’t feel comfortable with the rowdy, bar brawling stereotypical image of this activity. We travel the paved back roads of Central Iowa looking for the “off the beaten path” little gems of interest that dot the countryside. We have visited places like the rock garden in Zearing, the bell tower in Jefferson, the tree house near Marshalltown, Rieman Gardens in Ames, rose garden in State Center, etc., etc.
We meet every Sunday at 1 PM in the United Methodist Church parking lot in Ankeny during the riding season. The destination is secondary to the ride as we cruise past fields and through towns. We are very flexible in all aspects of the ride and try to work in a refreshment stop somewhere for ice cream and fellowship. |
