9 May 2005: Today there's an interesting news article on the power of prayer to reduce pain. It basically says that it works, but how it works is open to debate. I suspect that how it works is that God is always radiating the healing power of his love, but prayer simply helps us tune into it, and get out of its way, to stop blocking his healing power. Perhaps.

8 May 2005: A news article today discusses the realisation by doctors of what everyone with common sense has always known - that babies feel pain. An article in the New England Journal of Medicine in 1987 demonstrated that we must take as much care of babies as we do of children and adults. The implication is that if abortion can be stopped, then a great deal of unnecessary suffering can be prevented.
