Finding God by Bro. Kenneth Lankford " Ask , and it shall be given you; seek , and ye shall find; knock , and it shall be open unto you; For everyone that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth, and to him that knocketh, it shall be opened ."
Matthew 7:7-8
"Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest, Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart; and ye shall find rest unto your souls . For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light." Matthew 11:28-30
Maybe the enemy told you that you would loose everything; friends, home, land, wife, husband. The question was asked by Apostle Peter, in this matter in Mark 10:28-30.
"Then Peter began to say unto him, Lo, we have left all, and have followed thee. And Jesus answered and said, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and the gospel's, But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life."
The Lord is coming after a church. "That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word. That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holly and without blemish." Ephesians 5:26-27
It must have a firm foundation. "Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellow-citizens with the saints, and of the household of God; and are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone; In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord; In whom ye also builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit."
Ephesians 2:19-22
We should follow the footsteps of Jesus, to know His will. "For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps: Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth: Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously: Who his own self bare our sins in his body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed. For ye were as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls." 1 Peter 2:21-25
"I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: ..." Revelations 3:8 The door is open, now we should not wait until it is shut, for Jesus is the way.
"I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture." John 10:9
"Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way> Jesus saidth unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life : no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. If ye had known me, ye should have also known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him." John 14:5-7
"If ye love me, keep my commandments . And I will pray the Father and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever: Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him; but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. I will not leave you comfortless: I will come unto you. Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also. At that day ye shall know I am in the Father, and ye in me, and I in you. He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him. John 14:15-21
You must have that Born Again experience . "Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old ? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born? Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of the water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God . That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again." John 3:4-7
"Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection: Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin." Romans 6:4-6
"And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place .And suddenly ther came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared unto cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance." Acts 2:1-4
Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do ? Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost . For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call, And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation. Then they that gladly received his words were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls. And they continued steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers. Acts 2:37-42
This is how you find God.
