Welcome back to another new look for Memoirs of an Obsession....the site that hopefully offers the best reading material to expend a valuable amount of your time.

The site has gone through a lot, emotionally and otherwise. Inasmuch as I would love to say I am relieved that it got done, it took so much from me that I sometimes lost the thrill of seeing the work accomplished.

It is because of that I am sorry to announce that over the last few months while the site suffered a disparate amount of redundancy, I took that time to reflect on the purpose of my writing and the goals to which I hope my work would attain. In that time I came up with a very difficult decision which I am sure has reflected over the months---in the drab look of the site and lack of updates on the unfinished stories---the decision is simply to STOP WRITING.

This does not mean that I would stop writing completely but just the part of it that is labeled as fan fiction and sparse short story writing. I shall still write poetry--which is my passion---visuals, and put down the images that face me everyday---if I deny them audience I would be stifling out the true pleasure of what brought me into writing in the first place...self expression. However, I shall stop writing fan fiction. I am sorry to the few that fell into the spell of my work and loved it, but this has become the case and I am helpless over it. I have no reasons to deliver to you. I could say that I am being sent for a higher calling, or that I feel that my writing is too good for the web---but I will only be lying to you, feeding you a bunch of crap and concealing the true gut feeling that burned inside me which simply said: This is not for me. I am not good at it so I should stop trying to take a chance at it. I am only insulting the serious writers out there.

The only aspect of my writing which has taken a forefront in my life is my journaling. I maintain one monthly journal on this site from so many years ago and a somewhat abstract one written sometimes in 3rd person on my diaryland web page called: Aphie's Rants and Pieces. and another blog type journal called: Anita Writes...Pages of a Telegraph

My short story series about the life of my muse Keanu Reeves still remains. Simple Kind Of Life...it is the only aspect of my fan fiction which I am proud to report that I am glad I explored. I hope you shall carefully take the time to read each episode. As you can see I am very passionate about it. I am hoping the images that are dancing around in my head for a season finale so to speak will one day see the light f day from my heart to paper, but for now, what is written in those pages is all that can be seen.

On my websites page, let me be the first to apologize that some of the webrings are not working. I don't own them so I cannot explain why they work one day and the next day they expunge you from their nice clique. I am hoping one day I will have the guts to get rid of all of them and put my site up for interested parties and not for popularity as is often the case on the close-knit community called the WEB.

I am also hoping to get a new domain before the end of this year. *crosses fingers* so hope for me and contact me for any catchy names you can think of.

Enjoy the Angelina Jolie layout for now, and all other niceties too, and do please, please sign the guest book.

I will speak to you all by the next update. Until that time, I still remain a simple storyteller;  loving dialogue,  strong use of humor, and a dash of intrigue. Even Emeril couldn't come up with a better cocktail.

Thank you for reading this far.
Aphrodite.
