Here you will find reviews of fantasy and science fiction books I have read and, in most cases, enjoyed. If you are a fan of either genre I hope you will find these pages useful in helping you decide what to read next. If you have never read any science fiction or fantasy- it's high time you did!
My precept for this site is very simple: since March 1999 I have begun to review every fantasy and science fiction novel I have read. You can read the reviews here: they are listed alphabetically by author's surname.
To navigate this site, please use the links on the left-hand side: for instance, if you are looking for books by Octavia E. Butler, click on 'A-G', and if you are looking for books by Ian Watson, click on 'T-Z'. If you prefer to browse an index of author/title keywords, please use the site index. Once you find the page you are looking for, clicking on a particular title will bring up a review of that book.
If you require a broader keyword search (e.g. if you are looking for a book about cats or Mars) the search link below my signature is your best option.
You may buy a book online from Amazon.com by clicking on a link/thumbnail image on its review page. Where Amazon do not appear to be selling the book I have reviewed, I have attempted to find an appropriate substitute.
I have rated the books according to my own preferences. Fantasy books get purple globes and Science Fiction books get red planets. Ten purple globes or red planets means perfection; five or less means I wasn't impressed.
