Faith is an intellectual ascent to a loving God and His revelation, but there are two extremes of faith. Either to much faith and no reason or too much reason and no faith. The first is called Radicalism which is adamantly believing something is true without any evidence to support that belief, or in spite of strong evidence contrary to that belief..Two types of Radicalsim are Foundamentalism and Fantasicism. Foundamentalists are memebers of any religion who interpret their holy book-Koran, Bible, Hewbrew Scripture,- literally in terms of history, science, ect. Nihilism is the opposite of Radicalism, it is a viewpoint that traditional values and beliefs are unfounded and that existence is senseless and useless; a doctrine that denies any objective ground of truth, especially moral truth. Skepticism is an attitude of doubt or a disposition to incredulity; the doctrine that true knowledge or knowledge in a particular are is uncertain.                   Understanding these concepts was important for me because it allowed me to see my own faith in a new way. I could see that, on certain issues, I was being too reasonable without solid beliefs. After analyzing my beliefs after acquiraring this knowledge I saw that I could improve my faith in my relationships with people I care about, with God, and with humanity in general. Knowing what I do wrong is important because it allows me to change that and do what is right.
1) The History of the Life of Ignatius. Understanding how Ignatius came to hold the knowledge that he did and how he used it is important because I can use it in my own modern area because it is still acclipable now.
2) Faith and it's characteristics. Understanding Faith enables people to understand how it works in their lives or how it does not work in their lives. It can help them call to question things which before were unexamined.
3)The Mission. Especially the character of Rodrigo Mendoza played by Robert De Niro. The journey he goes through was inspiring and the end of his journey leads him to happiness and reconciliation.
"Do you think God will forgive us for what we've done?" Denzel Washington in "Man on Fire"
Understanding Faith helps me anaylize my life and see where I have faith and where my faith needs improvement. I can become a much more faithful person which should cause people to put more faith in my own person. People's faith in me is related to how much faith I have in that person so if I want to be trusted I must first show that person I have faith in them.
