'From The Roots Came The Rapper' Cash Box Review 18 March 1972: All new, never before released Tex toughies which should fare well, especially since 'I Gotcha' has restored his gift to Top 100 prominence. No one can talk a rap like Tex, and if you don't believe that gospel truth, listen to his 11-minute plus reading of 'I’ll Never Fall In Love Again' and especially his nine minute 'Oh Me Oh My' which ranks as one of his best performances of all time (and he’s been up and around since the early sixties). AM play will focus on Eugene McDaniels' 'Lovin' Man', whose lyrics really capture what Joe’s brand of sensual soul is all about. Mercy!
