Chapter five: conclusion to the spirit trials *Kaiira-chan has just entered into a mysterious cave for her next trial, the cave is very dark and she can barely see a thing* Kaiira-chan: he..hello? Anyone there? (side note: yes, she’s a cat and yes she should be able to see, but this is VERY VERY DARK!) BOO! Kaiira-chan: AAAAAAAAA!!!!!! (starts to cry and suddenly a large mark on her forehead appears in the shape of a crystal and shines bright enough to penetrate the darkness) Whoa, did I scare you little girl? Kaiira-chan: (trys to stop crying) Why’d you do that? I’M ONLY A LITTLE KID YOU MEANIE! Yes, but I’ve heard you’re VERY powerful. Kaiira-chan: WHERE ARE YOU?! I can’t see you anywhere…. (squints her eyes trying to find where the voice she is hearing is coming from) I should tell your mommy on you! Oh, I’m sure she wouldn’t care..anyways, why can’t you find me by my ki? Kaiira-chan: ohhhhh….. well, that’s because you’re suppressing it, I can find a small signal, but it’s kinda blurry to follow. Smart kid, but not smart enough….. (suddenly Kaiira-chan catches something moving in the corner of her eye and narrowly avoids getting kicked in the face, and out of anger she grabs the mysterious person’s foot and swings her into the nearby cave wall) Kaiira-chan: you aren’t a very nice lady.. and…. You’re not even Nekojin! Woman: No I’m not, I’m actually Sayajin. (a woman standing about 5’6 with long wild black hair that has been slightly died a red color that looked like blood, and had black eyes stared down at Kaiira-chan wearing a traditional Sayajin Warrior elite uniform) The boss will be very interested in you when you get older…. (she smirks and before Kaiira-chan can say another thing she disappears) Kaiira-chan: hmm…. I wonder if my dad is as scary as that lady… Oh well! Must get back to the TRIAL! (with Kaiira-chan’s newfound light coming from the mark on her forehead she got through to the other end of the cave…. Not without some difficulties of course…) Kaiira-chan: (covered in spiders) AAAAAAAAAA!!! PIT OF SPIDERS! PIT OF SPIDERS!!! (suddenly climbs frantically out the hole she fell into and runs like mad away from the hoard of snakes following her, she see’s the end of the cave and dashes out before the spiders can reach her and then they retreat back to their hole) I HATE SPIDERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ?????: Nice job. Kaiira-chan: ACK! ANOTHER MYSTERIOUS VOICE!!!! (she suddenly sees Cleo and starts to blush for screaming so loudly, Cleo then talks with her…..without moving her lips) Cleo: Good Job Kaiira-chan, you have succeeded in getting here first, the next person to come here will be who you will battle with. Kaiira-chan: battle? I have to BATTLE someone! Cleo: that’s the idea. Of course, this isn’t a battle to the death… yet. Kaiira-chan: ……………… (sees another Nekojin that comes out of the cave, she stands about 6’0, is a type of Siberian tiger Nekojin, and is one of the most muscular in the group) Kaiira-chan: heehee…. She didn’t come through first… did she? Cleo: yep, that would be Shakio. She’s the most powerful person in this group, I was thinking for sure she’d get here first. Kaiira-chan: (sweatdrops) oh, THANKS for the vote of confidence. Cleo: sorry about that. Anyways, here comes the rest of the 10 that have passed. (suddenly the obstacle course disappears, as the 10 people to reach the end begin to float in the air above everyone. You see that some of the Nekojins were still stuck in the forest at the beginning of the course, but then everyone disappears except for the ten and Cleo, Persia, Penelope, and Kitty.) Kaiira-chan: where’d everybody go? Penelope: shh! They were just transported back to their homes, but you should listen! They are explaining the next part of the trial now. (suddenly notices the mark on Kaiira-chan’s forehead and gets a very shocked look on her face, which surprises Kaiira-chan, but before she can ask Penelope about it, Kitty speaks up.) Kitty: Well then, you ten are the best out of the large initial group. Next in the trials we will test your combat abilities one against another. The fights will be the first person to come out of the first trial against the second, the third against the fourth, and so on. After we are reduced to five in number, we shall then proceed to the mental defense test, according to Cleo only two people will pass that test, and then those two will fight to the death for the spirit. Got it? (all nod to Kitty) Cleo: well then, why not let us begin? (a large ring appears next to them, Kaiira-chan and Shakio are transported to the far ends of the ring) Someone wins if one person knocks the other out of the ring, or if one person loses blacks out. No one will kill. Or else. Now…..BEGIN! (Shakio charges Kaiira-chan with her paws outstretched, and her claws out. Kaiira-chan noticed one thing while Shakio was coming towards her, she has LONG legs! So Kaiira-chan did something any short 10 year old would do, avoided injury by running underneath Shakio. Shakio was not readily used to this, after all in any battles she has fought she fought something her size, and turned around to face Kaiira-chan after her initial confusion. And BAM! Kaiira-chan had leaped up in the air and sent Shakio flying out of the ring with an unexpected side kick) Kaiira-chan: (falling to the floor with a loud thud and getting back up smiling) Did I win? (Shakio was a mess with her face covered in blood, but Persia thought it better not to let Kaiira-chan know she hurt Shakio so badly and took her right away to a healing room) Cleo: (smiling at Kaiira-chan) yes, you won. (and the fights went on, most of them lasting very quickly, and it ended up being fighters 1, 4, 6, 7, and 10 that won their fights, Kaiira-chan being number one) Kitty: now onto the mental defense testing! (suddenly nine chairs shot up out of the floor and five of them had the warriors names on them, Kaiira-chan, Cassie, Beth, Alexis, and Shayenne, and then there were four facing them, one with each of the elder women’s names, Cleo, Kitty, Persia, and Penelope. Cleo motioned for them to sit in their respective seats and then she spoke) Cleo: now, each of you should be prepared, we are each going to bombard someone with mental energy and you never know when it’s going to be you. (after a few seconds of them sitting tensely Beth started convulsing and fell out of her chair with white eyes) Penelope: failed. (suddenly Kaiira-chan started getting very nervous, they weren’t even making an effort to help out Beth, and she was worried that she might’ve died. Then suddenly her thoughts turned to herself, WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO ME!? Then, Shayenne slumped over in her chair also with white eyes) Persia: failed. Kaiira-chan: (There are still three people left…… what if I’m the one that also loses?) Suddenly, Kaiira-chan felt as if her brain started to rip apart. She felt like screaming because of the immense pain, but she could control her mouth, she couldn’t move at all! She put as much force as she could muster to try and keep her brain together, and the ark on her forehead started to glow again… and she didn’t feel any more pain. Persia: passed. Kaiira-chan, will you step over here please? Kaiira-chan then got up with somewhat shaky and unstable legs and walked behind Persia, after she had done so, Cassie fell out of her chair and had white eyes, as Alexis screamed, but managed to keep herself stable enough to not fall out of her chair. Persia: Alexis, you have passed. (suddenly the three other women disappeared and in their place appeared the sacred pedistal that the spirit had earlier appeared in) Cleo: assume your positions, now….it is time for your last trial. Kaiira-chan and Alexis both walked to opposite sides of the pedistal, Kaiira-chan felt her instincts come forth as she was finding herself dancing somewhat rhythmically to a mysterious music inside her head, and then when she was done she saw that Alexis had been doing the same. Kaiira-chan: (YAY! I’m not crazy! Well, here goes… This is for you Uncle Niko) Alexis started attacking the same way Shakio had before, with her claws. Kaiira-chan had to move a lot quicker to avoid the swipes from Alexis, and actually got a deep gash on her back. Kaiira-chan noticed that Alexis was getting a rhythm to her attacks, and would swipe with one arm and then the other, trying to get near to Kaiira-chan’s throat. So….Kaiira-chan did the quickest thing he could think of, and blocked one of her swipes be sticking out her arm and getting deep stab wounds from Alexis, which threw her off, and Kaiira-chan then kicked Alexis hard in the head and knocked her out. She then looked over to Cleo, wondering if she really needed to kill her, when suddenly.. ????: Wow, you’re a lot better skilled than the last person who fought for me! Kaiira-chan: you’re..the..the spirit? Spirit: yes, and I believe you’ve proved your worth. Besides, you have the symbol of power and virtue. Only mighty Nekojin can have that sign. And I’ve personally never had the honor to live in a Nekojin with that sign. I would be honored to be your spirit. Do you accept? Kaiira-chan: DUH! That’s what I’ve been fighting for! I mean….yes. Suddenly the spirit goes into Kaiira-chan, she then emits a light blue aura and the diamond mark on her forehead goes from being just light to a bluish color. Spirit: I am Poseidon, I give you the power to swim underwater at great speeds, and the ability to breathe in any environment, and to transfer that power temporarily if needed. Also through my power your magic and mental abilities have increased 50-fold. Kaiira-chan: wow….this power is amazing… Penelope: Well, now you must leave and go off to your training. Kaiira-chan: thank your for all your help… goodbye! (Kaiira-chan then flys back to her Uncle’s house/cave) Kaiira-chan: Uncle Niko you here? Uncle Niko: you succeeded in the trials. Kaiira-chan: yeah! I have Poseidon now! Uncle Niko: you also have the mark…. Kaiira-chan: oh yeah! I was surprised by someone during the trials and it showed up.. Uncle Niko: well then, I suppose you want to go back to your Felonian scum. Kaiira-chan: how did you know I wanted to go back? Uncle Niko: your thoughts speak very loudly little one.
