Character History: Born and raised in England, and was trained to by the Watcher's Council to be a Watcher for a future Vampire Slayer. He was sent to Sunnydale, California, and briefly became the Watcher of Buffy Summers and Faith. Buffy, however, didn't get along with him and chose to be a rogue slayer. Faith turned bad and killed a human and injured several others.
Wesley left Sunnydale, and since the Watcher's Council fired him and wouldn't allow him money to go back to England, he became a rogue demon hunter and travelled the U.S. hunting evil. It eventually lead him to L.A., where he later became an employee at Angel Investigations.
Faith showed up in L.A. and made several attempts on Angel's life (uh...unlife?). She kidnapped and tortured Wesley until Angel rescued him. The Watcher's Council tried to get Wesley to turn Faith over to them, but since Angel was convinced that he could help Faith and Wesley trusted Angel more than the Council, he double-crossed his old associates and helped save Faith's life. She wound up confessing to her crimes and is now in prison.
Wesley is the person of the team that usually identifies demons and translates prophecies and ancient languages, and has helped save both Cordelia and Angel more than once. In the season finale ("Shanshu in L.A."), Wesley translated a prophecy that said Angel was going to die. The Angel Investigations building was blown up with him in it, and Angel saved his life. Wesley translated a scroll to bring Cordelia out of a never-ending-vision-induced coma, and later re-translated the prophecy, shocked to realize that the word "shanshu" didn't mean death after all. On the contrary, it meant that Angel was going to become human after he fulfilled his destiny.
The character of Wesley Wyndham-Pryce is played by the very talented Alexis Denisof.
