Character History: Isabel is an alien from the 1947 crash in Roswell, New Mexico. She, along with her brother Max, their friend Michael Guerin, and Tess Harding had been placed in incubation pods in the desert in a secret, hidden cave. In 1989 three of those pods "hatched" and Isabel, Max and Michael emerged, looking like normal human 6 year olds.

Isabel and Max were found by Diane and Phillip Evans as they wandered out in the desert alone. They were later adopted by the same couple, and were raised human, though they had powers that no one else knew about, until 3 years later when they met back up with Michael, whom they had been seperated from in the desert.

Isabel is a popular girl who at first appeared to be a bit stuck-up. We soon learned that she wasn't really, and that she was just very insecure and afraid of her secret being revealed.

Isabel is very close to her human mother, Diane, and has wanted to tell her the truth about who she was for over 10 years. She believes that her mother would still love her and Max despite their alien origins.

She eventually became friends with Alex Whitman, though a relationship beyond the boundaries of friendship scared her, as she was afraid of becoming too attatched and having to leave one day.

Tess Harding came to town, and immediately befriended Isabel, who sensed a common bond between them, but didn't know what it was.

However, when she began having "dreams" about Michael, whom she had always thought of as a brother, Isabel told Alex she was ready to take their relationship to the next level. Alex was confused at first, but didn't disagree. She later talked to Michael about the dreams and found out he was having them also. For awhile Isabel feared she may be pregnant, as the dreams evolved into the two of them playing with an infant. Alex found out about the pregnancy scare and to Isabel's surprise, he wasn't angry or upset, but willing to stand by her no matter what the outcome.

Tess was revealed to be an alien like Isabel, Max and Michael, and had been raised by Nasedo. When Max found out what had been happening, he talked to Tess, who seemed to know more about their origins than they did. She informed him that Isabel could only get pregnant by actually sleeping with Michael, and that the dreams were just to awaken them to their "true destinies."

Isabel and Max's real mother revealed herself in a vision when the four aliens used the orbs that they had found. She told them that they had lived before. Max, she said, was the leader of their people, and Tess was his wife. Isabel was Max's sister and Michael, who was Max's second-in-command, was betroved to be her husband. The four of them had been killed on their planet, but their original D.N.A. had been mixed with human D.N.A. and Isabel's mother had sent them to live here until their enemies here on earth were defeated. Only then could they return home and save their planet from a civil war.

Some of My Favorite Isabel Quotes:

"Sheriff? I'm so glad someone's here. I have a flat tire, and I am *so* non-mechancial." -Isabel to Sheriff Valenti during the episode, "The Morning After."

"To put this as distinctly as possible, I'm not really a service oriented person." -Isabel to Maria, "Leaving Normal."

"The day Michael calls anybody honey, it's all over." -Isabel, "285 South."

"Are you two flirting? God, *could* my life get any worse?" -Isabel to Michael and Maria during the episode "Riverdog."

"Alex. We should have told him about us. I...I know this sounds crazy, Max, but I feel something about him...like, he's okay...like we'd be better off including him." -Isabel to Max in "Heatwave."

"...We've never been anything else but what you see. No green skin, no antennas. We have emotions, we feel pain, and we probably have more questions about ourselves than you do. I mean, haven't you ever felt different from everybody else? Like if you tried to reveal your true self to someone, they just would never understand....well, that's what it's like to be us. We're just as human as you are, Alex..." -Isabel to Alex, "The Balance."

"Max and Michael are all I have. And if I lose them..." -Isabel to Maria, "The Balance."

"Well, I remember the orphanage. Um...I most clearly remember seeing you and daddy the day that you came to adopt us, and you were wearing this yellow sweater. And I remember thinking that it looked like the sun. That you were like the sun. Mom, I don't know if you can understand this, but...the day that you and daddy came for us...that's when our lives began." -Isabel to Diane Evans in "The Toy House."

"Max, don't you see what's happening? We're losing her. We're losing our mother and...I can't lose her. I need her." -Isabel to Max in "The Toy House."

The character of Isabel Evans is played by the very talented Katherine Heigl.
