BLINDDATE

Matt: I don't know why they set me up with a guy, I'm not gay. My roommate's girlfriend says that Ane is like that, though, trying to break out of people's expectations or whatever. She said it probably wouldn't be like a date at all, just two guys getting to know each other.
Trent: I really didn't know what to expect from this guy. On the phone, he said he likes 'N Sync, but then he wants to go to some Irish sports bar. I said I'd go there if we could go where I wanted after.
Mike: He seemed like a cool guy, he dressed really nice and clean. I thought, he'll definitely help me pick up girls. We went to O'Mooligan's, which is an awesome place. He said he didn't like beer, but I made him have a couple. We had a great time there, the NBA playoffs were on and everybody was really getting into the game.
Trent: He made me drink some disgusting domestic beer, but then he started watching a baseball game and I played with that bar game where you play concentration and stuff.

FINE-ASS VAMPIRES
Trent: After a while, I said we have to go some place else. We compared muscles in the cab, he's really cut. I liked feeling his arms. I took him to this great club I know.
Mike: Trent obviously likes to train, maybe we could be workout buddies.
Trent: When we got to the club, I felt like I was in my element again. I saw a few friends, and Mike seemed to like them a lot. There were a bunch of club kids there, so many fantastic outfits. It made me wish I had dressed up, but that would've been weird, on a first date.
Mike: The dude knew everybody in that place. There were so many freaks there, dressed up like vampires and shit. But he knew some really hot girls, too. There was this one girl in a black vinyl bikini with clear plastic strips all over her and such a fine ass, I talked to her for a while. Trent is really freakin' funny, though. Every time he saw somebody he knew, he would fuckin' scream and just start making fun of their hair or clothes or something, and everybody loved him. He's really out there.
Trent: I convinced him to do a lot of shots, because he seemed kind of uptight. After a while, he was more comfortable touching me, but I could tell he's not really a PDA kind of guy.

A CASE OF MISTOOKEN IDENTITY
Mike: I got so wasted at that club, I don't even really remember a lot of it. I tried talking to some girls, Trent introduced me to so many, it was awesome. I think I was too drunk to really get my swerve on, though. I even hit on this one girl, and she was like, "I'm a guy," and left!
Trent: Mike was really into some of the kids' outfits. I think he hasn't really hit the club scene too much. He's still rocking the khakis and tight shirt look on weekends. I was there once. He really knew the words to that Ace of Base song. He sang it to a friend of mine like he was on TV or something. Maybe he's just really young.
Mike: I really felt like me and Trent could be buds. He taught me a thing or two about partying. I never would have thought to go to that club. But the girls there really didn't seem interested in hooking up, so I thought we should hit the streets.
Trent: I was glad to get him alone when we went for a walk. He was spreading himself pretty thin in there. We were walking down the street, and he starts telling me how he doesn't really have any close male friends since he left school. I'm like, great, here we go, he's going to get all serious on me. But, that's how some people are, I guess.
Mike: It was easy to talk to Trent. We hugged, I think, which is fuckin' funny. I've never even hugged my little brother.
Trent: I wasn't sure what was going on. He kept putting his arm around me, but obviously didn't want to do anything in public, and yet didn't want to go somewhere. I kept thinking, I'll just pull him into an alley or something.

THE INTERESTING PART
Mike: We went to his house after a while. He said he had some cool art, and I'm really into art and shit. I have two M. C. Escher posters and this Dali poster that's like eight feet tall. So I wanted to see his place.
Trent: He seemed unresponsive at my apartment. It was weird, not like he was rejecting me, but like he was oblivious to what I wanted to do.
Mike: We drank some wine at his place, it was all he had. I don't remember when I left.
Trent: He passed out for a few minutes during the most . . . interesting part of the evening. When someone passes out while you're doing that, you know it's not going to be reciprocated. I guess I just lost interest then. That's around when he left.
Mike: I would totally hang out with Trent again. We could work out together or I know he could help me find some really hip clothes.
Trent: I have a feeling Mike might not be my type.
