So I've broken down and finally started
a recs page.
It was never necessary until now;
if I found something I liked, I archived it on F&F.
Between my own fic, running my sites, and that nasty little intrusion known
as real life, I don't have time to indulge my fanfic habit as much as I'd
like to, so I mainly stuck to Spikefic. Lately, however, I've attempted
to expand my horizons a little bit... and here's what I've found- things
that I can't archive... but I wish I could. :o)

I could kick myself for not having
discovered Jennifer
Oksana earlier. Fortunately, a few gems that recently made
their way into my inbox caught my attention. The first one was Merciful.
Here's the thing- I don't read Cordyfic. And unless he's actively
shagging Spike or Wes, or I'm betaing Donna, I usually don't read Angelfic.
But... damn. This is dark as pitch and cold as ice and you should
go read it. Like, now. And while you're at it, check out All
Things Cold- a horrifying little glimpse into where next season
might lead. And then there's Lacerated
Sky- you know, I don't think I'm ever gonna write Fredfic.
Crazy people are just a bitch to write, and Dru is almost more than I can
handle as it is. Add to that the fact that we've only seen Fred a
handful of times? Sheesh. Consequently, anyone that writes
good Fredvoice impresses the fuck out of me. Another excellent example
of Fredfic, while I'm on the subject, is Scynneh's Just
Fine on the Ice- a dark, scary glance into Fred's fucked-up little
head.
Oooo, check out this one- Requiem
by Lori. How do you think the Scooby Gang reacted to Buffy's death?
With roses on her grave and at-least-she's-in-a-better-place-now sentimentality?
Somehow I doubt Joss would treat us that way. Here we have perfect
Xander- angry, frustrated, a la putting-his-fist-through-the-wall-in-"The
Body" Xander. This is great stuff- and I'm not heard to say that
about Xanderfic often. ;o) But enough of the hyper-dark...
Dances
with Groos by Dolores Labouchere is one of the funniest fucking
things I have ever read. And then there's Tripod
by Dolores and Kate Bolin, another one of the funniest fucking things I
have ever read.
And finally, some Wesleyrific goodness.
Criss Moody makes me melt into a little puddle on the floor, and Spun
Glass is an Angel-and-Wesley-filled treat. Go, drool, worship.
For those who prefer Wes to shag men with bald heads and wicked sharp axes,
you can't do better than Love-
Te's Wes/Gunn is a force of loveliness. Also check out her
searingly hot A
Question of Style, written with Jane St. Clair. Yummmm.
Gahhhh.
That is all.
