A LETTER FROM ANDREW TO DAD

Dad, you were the kind of man
That never had time for me,
You always had something more "important" to do
Like watching sports on T.V.

I'd ask " hey Dad, wanna play catch with me"?
You'd reply " not right now my son"
Then maybe later, you'd remember I asked,
After your ball game was done.

You might squeeze in a minute or two
Just before it got too dark outside,
Then you'd say "Gee I'm sorry Son"
"I just didn't have time", you lied.

Days went, and years passed,
But I never gave up trying.
And you Dad? Well, the same old story,
You never gave up your lying.

Then Angels came and took me away,
And I saw tears in your eyes.
For all the times you didn’t have time?
Not even time for Good Byes?

I watched you at my funeral,
You cried so others would see,
The pain you were feeling in your heart,
Were those tears really for me?

I’d really like to think they were
And set my mind at ease,
Just say you loved me Dad, for once,
I’m begging you Dad, won’t you please?

I Love you so much Dad
Andrew
