Semester exam

By Andrew Connor

I learned multiple things from this semester in the Junior Theology Faith course. The major thing I learned to appreciated was web sites. In the past if a web site was down I felt that the person running the site was not doing a good job. I would complain that the site manager hasn’t fixed a link or that he or she doesn’t do anything to make the website look better. I realize how hard it is to update and maintain parts of the website that arnt used by many anymore. The web assignments that seem to be just a simple page can take a long time to produce the way we want to because one mistake in the coding can mess up the entire page.

A second thing I learned is about The Blind Men and the Elephant. This was a teaching about how people can have multiple views of the same thing. This has helped me because I can be stubborn and try and make others see things the way I do. However like the blind men we only see (feel) what’s in front of us, not the picture of the whole thing, so we interpret what we think the use of the object is by seeing only part of it. I am going to try and change my stubbornness on topics and be more understanding to the way others feel the topic should be interpreted.

Lastly I enjoyed learning about the Apologetics. Although none of them alone was reason enough for me to believe in God, I enjoyed seeing how the writers used nature to prove a point. Such as William Paley's Watch and a Watchmaker. He said that we are in a forrest when we find a watch that has an intelligent designe therefore there is an intelligent designer. He lightly interprets nature into his belief but it is still there. I enjoy being outdoors taking hikes with friends and family because I believe nature to be relaxing so the Apologetics ment alot to me

Overall I felt this course was a good tool for learning about myself, about Jesus and who He is, and about others. I think that I changed the most about the way I might act around others because I will try to understand their point and just make mine as second choice, not as the only choice. I feel I also understand more about myself and how I am in the cave on alot of topics that I thought I knew alot of information about, but we cannot know all the truth about anything because we are human
