Giants
Giagantic
and fearsome warrior native to Germania and the Frozen Lands,
giants have been pushed back from their traditional normadic
homelands towards the Christianized lands, and many of their
number have been converted to Christianity. Despite this,
urbanization has not come naturally or easy for the nomadic
giants, and they frequently live solitary lives. After all
- few buildings in the cities of the world are built for ten
foot tall giants, and almost none in the smaller communities.
Giants
stand around ten and a half feet tall, and usually wear their
blonde hair long. They universally have fair skin and usually
have blue eyes - denoting their nordic heritage.
Giants
can be either fighters or clerics, however both suffer a 15%
penalty on XP for levelling up - thus they advance more slowly
than other characters. Giants have double the standard HP
for characters of their class (before Con bonuses are added).
Though they can use two-handed weapons in one hand, they can
not use human weapons effectively as the balance, grip and
leverage is all wrong. Basic giant weapons can be bought in
some human cities (+10% to price). Similarly, giants can not
wear human armour or use human shields, and must buy giant
sized equipment (+20% to price) where available.
Giants
are immensely powerful (+4 STR) but lack the accurate coordination
of smaller races (-2 DEX). As well, a giant's individualistic
nature tends to make them poor leaders (-2 CHA).
