Description: Aquiliopatria is the name the southern Mediterainian states have placed on the lands in the extreme north of Europe (on the Scandinavian peninsula). Aquiliopatria is sparsely populated by a predominantly hunter-gatherer populace who live off the land. These northmen tribes are nomadic, moving to the shores in the summer months to fish and hunt leviathans an inland in winter.

Aquiliopatria is also home of the Nestorians, a sect of Christianity that broke with the church over some of the teachings established at the First Council of Nicea concerning the primacy of the archangels in the church. The Nestorians were originally based in Constantinople, but after the first council they severed formal ties with the church and headed north. This Nestorian Schism occured in A.D. 325, and although the Nestorian communities in aquiliopatria are distinct in their Christian traditions (instead of the heathen religions of the northmen) and the fact that the Nestorian communities are non-Nomadic, they are otherwise indistinguishable due to an intermixing between the cultures.

Since the emergence of the Dark Lord the Nestorians have reformalized relations with the church in the interest of defeating the dark lord. Though the Dark Lord has shown little interest in Aquilopatria (despite it being adjacent to the homeland of the Dark One), the presence of the Nestorians and the nomadic tribes make the choice of conquering Aquilopatria wholly unpaletable. Although it could serve as another vector to attack Germania and Daoine Sidhe, their defence of the land, paired with the harsh reality of the environment, make conquering it almost impossible. The Nestorians also send their best warriors south to join the the war against the Enemy.
