"And war broke out in the heavens;
Micheal and his angels fought against the dragon.
And the dragon and his angels fought back;
But they were defeated,
And there was no longer any place for them in heaven.
The great dragon was thrown down,
That ancient serpent
Who is called the Devil and Satan,
The deciever of the whole world, he was thrown down
To earth, and his angels were thrown down with him
-Revelations 12: 7-9

Welcome to the Holy Wars

In a land where that final battle has come, where the agents of the adversary meet the forces of the Lord, can you make a difference? Do you have the strength to fight the darkness? Do you have it in you to even survive?

Well, if you're here then you're obviously interested at least a little bit in the game. At its heart the game is based on an alternate version of our worlds history. There are several major differences in this world - the presence of the Daoine Sidhe (the high kingdom of the elves) in Gallia, Goblinkin and Gnomes in the Urals and Giants in Germania.

Of course, these differences are really minor compared to the two main differences - the presence of magic in the world, and the fact that the rapture has begun. The year is 1245, one-hundred and forty-four years after the final war between the agents of the adversary and the archangels of heaven.

If any of this piques your interest, then feel free to contact me at alaffin [/at\] cs [/dot\] mun [/dot\] ca (if you can't decode it, then I apologize but you can't play). But let me lay out a few ground rules first (just to weed out those that need not apply):

Rule 1 - There are no rules
Rules are only here to make the game world consistent. If at any point in time I decide that the rules ruin the spirit of fun, I'll toss them out the window. If I see better uses for rules, I'll apply them as I see fit. In short, rules lawyers need not apply. The only rule is my rule.

Rule 2 - Combat
Depending on how it works out, I intend to make a few modifications to the combat system to make combat via IRC seem more cinematic and flowing. This shouldn't involve any major changes, but you have been warned.

Rule 3 - Don't Take It Seriously
At least not that seriously. Yes, I'm sure the fact that I'm using a quasi-historical setting and an existing religion may bother you. Perhaps you might also be bothered by the fact that Christianity is the only religion (except some druidic paganism and the elven religion). Yes, I have ignored other religions that were popular at the time, but I have done so for good reason. I am Christian myself, and Christianity is what I know best. If I was to DM a game based on Islamic or Judaic or Hindi or neo-paganistic faiths it would suck, because I know very little about those religions. This is not some font of Christian propoganda, nor is it an attempt to convert anyone. It's just a way for me to mix a relitively well know mythos with a game I enjoy. If you can't handle that, don't bother applying.

Other rules will be added here as I see fit.
