Ranger
Warriors of stealth, shadow and nature, rangers are nature-dwelling counterparts to fighters. While soldiers train in cities with past masters of combat, rangers study in the forests, learning the art of war by observing the hunters and the hunted. This informal training can take any number of forms - from hunters in the tribes of Gallia and Germania who are trained to track and hunt prey, to farmers who develop tracking skills as a nesscessity in the lean times, to those rare wildkin who are left in nature to fend for themselves at a young age.

Although Rangers are powerful allies of the Lord, their nature makes them seem untrustworthy to most mortals. In times where betrayal is the norm, this is a major stroke against them. They are almost universally unwelcome in larger cities (and thus given a wide berth on those rare occasions that lead to them entering cities of their own will) and tolerated in the more rural centres.
