| A chat with Aphazel (Q&A) Conducted Friday, January 11th 2002 By Daniel Starkey D: So Aphazel, what is your birthdate? A: April 1 1972. D: What is your favorite Ancient song and album? A: Favourite song is maybe "The Draining", favourite album is "Proxima Centauri". D: What do you like most about being a musician? A: That I can create sonic realms and atmospheres to my own pleasure that cannot be found anywhere but within myself. It gives me an enormous feeling of power ans satisfaction like nothing else. D: Have you stayed in contact with any previous members of Ancient? A: I have stayed in contact with everyone except Kimberly. D: In the Dimmu Borgir Viva Tv special, I quote ex-Ancient Keyboardist and backing vocalist Kimberly Goss as saying; "The reason I moved from Chicago to Norway was that I was asked to play on a record for a Norwegin band from Bergen, just this really small shitty band called Ancient...But I realized how much they sucked so I left" When I spoke with Kaiaphas, he told me that he asked you to tell her she was fired, is this true? Do you have any comments on what she said? A: Yeah, I know she has been making up such stories. She was not exactly "asked" to join but thats not important... We all started to dislike her after a while and it was a mutual decision between us that she should have to leave, she was not happy with the band situation cause she didn't get along with us very well and there were always musical differences. D: What can we, your loyal fans, expect next from Ancient? A: At the moment all we care about is tournig, we will hopefully come to the US in the Spring but I am still not sure of it. We'd like to do a live album during this tour, but we'll see... D: Any closing words? A: I wanna thank all our fans and supporters through the years, it has been great, see you on tour!
