1992 World Championships

Long Program : Malagueña
Choreographed by Sandra Bezic
Review and Comments:
This program was very nice, very elegantly done. Although Kristi was known
more for her artistry, her jumps, spins, and footwork were flawless.
She had very hard footwork that fit the Spanish flamenco music perfectly.
I think Kristi really popularized the "Malagueña," because for their
1998 exhibition number, Anjelika Krylova and Oleg O. chose the same piece
of music!
In this competition, a lot of emphasis was placed on jumps. Despite the one
fall, Kristi put that behind her and otherwise was perfect.
List of elements included in this program:
[*Note: It is hard for me to tell the jumps without slow-mo (and the help
of a commentator), so if I made an error calling a jump, please excuse me.]

Kristi was the leader after the short program, and won her second consecutive
World title after her long program!
Kristi on dealing with being expected to win 1992 Worlds:
"I wasn't really thinking of expecting to win, I wanted to come in and skate
well in front of a lot friends and family, and I'm glad I did so well.
