Filing
of Annual Income Information Returns with the Philippine Embassy
The Philippine Embassy in Amman, Jordan, would like to inform all
Filipino nationals residing and working in Jordan of a
ruling of the Philippine
Bureau of Internal Revenue, summarized as follows:
1.
Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs), taxable only on income derived from
sources within the Philippines.
2.
OFWs whose income derived from outside the Philippines is exempt from
income tax and those concerned shall not be required to file an income tax
return but are required to file Annual Income Information Return (Form 1703).
3.
Annual Income Information Returns are due on or before 15 April of each
year.
4.
The deadline for the filing of the 1999 Annual Income Information Returns
has been extended from
15 April 2000 to 31
October 2000 without penalty.
In view of the
foregoing, all Filipino nationals residing and working in Jordan are reminded to
file their (a) Annual Income
Information Returns for 1999 and previous years at
the Philippine Embassy not later than 31 October 2000; and (b) Annual
Income
Information Returns for Year 2000 on or before 15 April 2001.
