Purpose Statement The "Amish Mennonite Academy of Medicine" [AMAM] is a non-profit research group dedicated to examining the centuries-old health practices of the Amish-Mennonite way of life through the cutting-edge technology of modern science. While seeking to preserve the best of Amish-Mennonite medical traditions, the AMAM Research Group has no desire to preserve Amish medical practices that are not proven to be effective.. We postulate, that if those Amish-Mennonite health practices are to be successfully extrapolated to the rest of the world for the cure and/or control of modern maladies such as cancer, diabetes, heart & cardio-vascular disease, alzhiemers, arthritis & rhumatism, and degenerative diseases of all kinds, infectuous diseases - both viral & bacterial -, psychological health, energy & well-being, and anti-senecence - the valid practices have nothing to fear from the scrutiny of modern science. |
TEN STEPS TO DISEASE PREVENTION 1] Do not become overweight [Your waist size should not exceed 4 times your wrist size] 2] Do not be angry, negative, or envious 3] Do not consume grain alcohol, or put rubbing alcohol on skin 4] Do not use any drugs - including tobacco [this includes over-the-counter varieties, prescription, and illegal drugs] 5] Do not eat artificial foods, hydrogenated and/or 'trans' fatty acids 6] Do not eat white flour [flour and water makes paste and gums-up the digestive process] 7] Do not eat white sugar or white salt 9] Do not eat anything over cooked [All foods become carcinogenic to the degree they are overcooked] 10] Do not eat meats fed with steroids, antibiotics, artificial feeds, etc. |
TEN STEPS CREATING POSITIVE HEALTH 1] Spend as much time reclining, as in vertical positions (Gravity is a great cause of aging, a real killer. Also sleep on firm support, in fresh air, as cold as possible) 2] Drink your bodyweight in pure water weekly (2 - 2&1/2 gallons daily) There are no signs of aging that cannot be caused by dehydration!
