Xellos is quite the character in the series. He's known as The Trickster Priest because he's so double-sided. He is a mazoku, and as such is both extremely old and extremely powerful, although both are rarely seen. The reason for all the power? Well, he's actually both the general and the priest for the Dark Lord Zelas. Most Dark Lords choose many generals and divide their power among them, however, Zelas only has one, so he gets the whole shabang. He starts to show his powers at the end of NEXT, and he shows a lot more in TRY. Overall Xellos seems to be a very nice person, as long as you stay on his good side, or as long as he likes you. He's always smiling and he's almost always got his eyes closed. He's actually a very nice guy, and only gets ticked off if you really try hard to, *cough*Filia*cough*.
