| Brenda and Lois have been best friends for years, ever since their husbands had worked a business deal together. Brenda is the mother of two little girls, ages 3 and 5, named Lacey and Shayna. Brenda's husband, James Michaels has been abusing Brenda for years, almost since their wedding night. Brenda finally gets up the courage to leave James and flees to Port Charles, running to her best friend Lois Ashton. Lois shields Brenda from James' wrath and helps her obtain a divorce.
