GH Star trades in drama for a lot of laughs
Maurice Benard(Sonny) only recently made his anxiously anticipated return to General Hospital....and already he has another project awaiting his loyal fans. Benard completed filming a small role in JD Shapiro's ("Robin Hood;Men In Tights") comedy "We Married Margo."
The movie's premise revolves around two men, Jake and William "Rock" Dozier, who were both married to Margo. After each of their divorces are finalized the men move in together and drive each other crazy! It is these circumstances Jake pens one of Hollywoods most hunted scripts.
"Maurice plays a studio head interested in the story." explains the films producer Steve Zakman to Update. "He's a smart, arrogant character. We were basically looking for someone young and trendy." Despite the actor having a hipness that registers off the charts, there remained trepidation about Benard assuming the comic role.
"Being that Maurice is such an intense actor, I didn't know if he would feel confortable doing comedy," explains Zakman. "
