Heaven

I know a big question many have is whether or not their baby was a "person" yet and if we have the hope of seeing our babies in heaven... at what time does the life of my child become eternal and significant? God has imparted to us the incredible ability to reproduce eternal souls as well as physical bodies.  From the moment of conception the eternal soul is present and the physical body starts to develop and grow from that moment onwards.  Here are a few verses from the Bible that confirm that our children are significant and a full person that we can look forward to meeting again in heaven:

There are so many questions we have about heaven and somehow when we know one of our loved ones is there we want to know so much more as we think about what they're experiencing in heaven.

Although all of our questions cannot be answered now, it's amazing how specific the Bible is about Heaven.  Jesus taught his followers to pray, "Our Father which art in Heaven..."  From this we learn that Heaven is a real place and that God is there.  The Bible also tells us that Heaven was created by God, and it is a place of light, hope, and rewards.

One of the most intriguing thoughts about Heaven is that Jesus said, "I go to prepare a place for you."    The Bible says it took God six days to create this world--beautiful coastlines, breath-taking mountain peaks, and rolling hills.  So imagine how incredible Heaven must be since Jesus has been preparing it for nearly 2000 years!   Truly, no mere man has ever seen, heard or even imagined what wonderful things God has ready for those who love the Lord!

Here are some verses from the Bible which tell us more about heaven:

"In my Father's house are many mansions:  if it were not so, I would have told you.  I go to prepare a place for you.  And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
John 14:2&3 KJV

And the material of the wall was jasper; and the city was pure gold, like clear glass.  The foundation stones of the city wall were adorned with every kind of precious stone....  And the twelve gates were pearls; each one of the gates was a single pearl.  And the street of the city was pure gold, like transparent glass.
Revelation 21:18-19, 21 NASB

And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, "now the dwelling of God is with men, and he will live with them.  They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God.  He will wipe every tear from their eyes.  There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away."
Revelation 21:3-4 NIV

When I think of Heaven now I think of Amber being raised in the love and care of her Heavenly Father, free from suffering and free from the heartaches and trials of this life---she'll never know what it's like to cry, suffer or even sin in this world!  Death has separated us from Amber but death is not a period, it's a comma... Amber is still our daughter and we are still her parents. The thought of dying isn't quite so scarey anymore as we have the joyful anticipation of joining Amber in heaven.  I think of Amber meeting and talking to family members and friends who are in heaven already and learning all she can about us.   I know the minute that we set eyes on Amber in heaven that she will know us and we will know her and after she welcomes us home with a warm hug we'll pick up where we left off and spend all of eternity together with no more tears and no more goodbyes---what a day that will be!!  You can know this same hope and comfort if you know Jesus Christ as your Saviour and Lord.
All who believe in Him have eternal life in Heaven.

For God so Loved the World that He gave His only begotten Son that
whosover believeth on Him shall not perish but have everlasting life.
John 3:16

There's a Friend for little children

There's a Friend for little children,
Above the bright blue sky;
A Friend who never changeth,
Whose love can never die.
Unlike our friends by nature,
Who change with changing years,
This Friend is always worthy
The precious Name He bears.

There's a home for little children,
Above the bright blue sky;
Where Jesus dwells in glory,
A home of peace and joy.
No home on earth is like it,
Or can with it compare;
For everyone is happy,
Nor could be happier there.
