Zira is the mate of Scar. Though there is no mentioning of her in the original Lion King, she is the main villan in the sequal. She bore to Scar two cubs: a male named Nuka, and later a daughter named Vitani. She also raises and trains Scar's chosen heir, Kovu. She is determined to kill Simba and avenge her mate, and claim the Pridelands in Scar's name. She is sharp and cunning, much like her mate. Her over-obsession with her vengance is her eventual downfall.
