YOUR FRIEND, THE "HISTORY" FILES

. . . . While cruisin' the NET, you find this really cool site. Just as you're really gettin' into it, the dog comes running to see you. He's so happy that you're there, that in the process of jumping around, he unplugs the computer . Or your darling little baby likes the BEEP of the RESET button! . . . Or YOU accidentally hit the No matter HOW it happens, you know WHAT happens ==> You just lost an hour's worth of "surfin'"! . . . To see how to get back to where you were before the POW! . . . (click here)

Reboot and connect to the internet. From your browser, click on "communicator" menu, then select "History".

NEXT

You'll see the history window. Find the "most likely" site (near the top of the list, if sorted by time). Left mouse click on it, then right mouse click and choose "Go to Page".. . . . . . . NEXT

It's MAGIC ! ! ! You're back to the page that crashed. If that's not the one, then go back to History and choose the "next most likely". . . . . . . . NEXT

To change the "sort" criteria, while in the History page, click on "View". Select how you want the history to be sorted. Try out which one suits you best. For "crashes", I find that "last viewed" "ascending" is best.

Did you know that the next user can peek into your business through the History and Cache? See privacy to learn how to keep out prying eye. Sometimes history can be a parent's best friend too. . . in helping your kids over come the lure of adult oriented sites.(Be caring, compassionate, understanding, and firm, not just condemning. These are the kids you love, and they're just curious.)

If you find any of this useful, let me know.
. . . . TOP
