Dragon's Lullaby

Close your eyes my hatchling child
and dream about the day
When you will learn to spread your wings,
and try to fly away~

You have a smile that cheers my heart
and makes me wish to sing
My dragon prince, my baby,
someday you shall be king.~

Your father and your mother
 are quite the royal pair
Their love has brought you to my arms,
to hold and love, and share~

The world with you my brother,
 my sweet enchanting prince
I will give you of my heart,
for I've loved you ever since~

Mine eyes have fallen upon,
 your sweet angelic smile
and you will travel realms with me
immeasureable by mile~

I will give you many things
that fortune cannot buy
and I will try my brother
to answer every why~

And through me you will have
 all treasures of the earth
For you will learn all secrets and
the way to measure worth~

You will know it isn't in
a shining, colored stone
Nor even in the flourish of
your father's Royal Throne~

It is in the honor that our
loving  family holds so dear
Yes, you will learn all this, my love,
 before you turn a year~

And brother since I know,
you were sent from worlds above
I know I'll ne'er have to teach you
my dear prince how to love~
