Actually, Larry is kind of in this episode...... via the telephone. Now if you turn up the volume to your television sets loud enough, you can hear his voice on the other hand. My only question is...... is that Robert's voice or just an imitator? I swear, it sounds like Robert!! Larry sent Ally flowers for Valentine's Day. They were forget-me-nots, which I thought was brilliant on Larry's part. On the phone, Ally asks how Sam is. Larry says he's doing great. Ally tells him to send Sam her love. Then she asks how Jamie is and tells Larry to send her the measles. LOL! When they say their I love you's and hang up, we see this big box thing in Ally's room. You know what it is? It's a freezer. You know what's inside? It's the snowman that Larry left for her!! LOL. Now who would go out and buy a freezer and stick a snowman in it? Why, Ally McBeal, of course!
Well, what can I say.... I still enjoyed this episode very much. Remember, I've been an Ally fan since the beginning and I will be one until the very last episode. No matter what, it remains one of the best-written shows on television and boasts one of the most talented ensembles working today. But...... you knew there was a but coming....... I miss Larry. Robert Downey, Jr. has made such an impact on the show. I would never have guessed last August when it was first announced that he was joining the cast that he would make this much of an impact. The show was already awesome to begin with, and with his talents on it...... it was just icing on the cake.
Back to Ally, she ends up singing with the REAL Barry Manilow at the bar and later that night she tells Larry all about it over the phone. Larry tells her that he wishes he could have been there. Then he asks her if Barry Manilow hit on her. LOL. Ally says no and that he was a perfect gentleman. They say their I love you's again and bid each other goodnight. Renee walks in and asks Ally if being apart from Larry was harder than she thought it would be. Ally says it is but is quick to point out that she does have Renee and thanks her. Renee goes to bed, leaving Ally to dance with her pillow all alone. And that scene pretty much sums up how I feel.
