Episode Review

"Falling Up"

What a lovely episode! That can only mean one thing, right? :) Well, I'll get to that later. Let's review.....

Ally's having nightmares again. This time, her dream consists of her on an airplane on her way to Detroit to visit Larry. She's sitting next to a nosy nun who seems to know even more about birth control and sex than Ally does! It's strange, to say the least, so Ally excuses herself to the bathroom. She asks the stewardess where the little girl's room is and the stewardess shows her the way. Ally goes to open up the door when the stewardess screams that it's the wrong one! Too late. Ally is sucked out of the plane and is now falling thousands of feet to her certain death........

And then she wakes up.

Poor Ally. She's still suffering from those hallucinations of Larry. In the conference room, she imagines that Larry is there and gets up and gives him a big hug. Uh oh..... it's actually Richard you're hugging, Ally. Oopsie #1. Later that evening in her apartment, the doorbell rings. Ally answers the door and finds Larry standing there! He smiles and says, "Hi." Well, of course Ally is overjoyed and throws herself at him and gives him a big kiss. Uh oh...... it's actually Jackson you're kissing, Ally. Oopsie #2.

Yup, she's losing it bigtime. I guess that's what lost love will do to you. Scratch that. I guess that's what lost love and being a NUTCASE will do to you. LOL. Ally expresses concern about when (if ever) Larry will be back. She goes to see TWO therapists who both basically tell her to break things off with Larry. He's a dead end, says Rhea Perlman (who played Therapist #1). You want to marry Larry but you know it'll never happen, says Fred Willard (who played Therapist #2). Well, this is not encouraging to say the least! But Ally doesn't lose hope. Especially one night when she talks to John. He tells her that he never believed for a second that Larry wouldn't come back. After all, John says, the man knows what he has. Perfectly put, John. And it's just what Ally needed to here. And I'm sure she valued John's opinion much more than those two shrinks.

Now it's the end of the episode and we see an all-too-familiar sight...... it's Ally walking home alone. How many times have we seen that image throughout this series? Fortunately, it has a happier ending this time. She arrives home and finds her snowman in her living room! What the.....? Isn't that supposed to be in the freezer? All of a sudden, Ally hears a very familiar voice say, "You stuck me in a freezer?" Ally turns around and sees Larry standing there (wearing a black shirt and looking very sexy, if you'll allow me to add that :-). I'm actually a little surprised that Ally wasn't doubtful at all when she first saw him. After all those embarrassing mix-ups that were caused by her hallucinations, how could she know that it was the REAL Larry this time? Well, somehow she knew and she was flabbergasted to find him there. She just started stuttering as Larry just patiently waited for her to get a coherent sentence out. "You're back??" she asks. "I'm back," he answers. Ally is quick to ask him how long. Is this just a visit or....... Larry asks her if forever works for her. Awwwww...... Another line sure to become a classic. He tells Ally that he was hoping to move in. Well, in an effort to protect her own heart, she tells Larry that she won't be able to take him leaving again. And that works out fine for Larry because he isn't planning to. And speaking of classic lines, Larry repeats one that he said in a previous episode.

I'm only at the beginning of loving you.

Maybe David E. Kelley recognized what a wonderful line that was that he had to use it twice. LOL. Well, Larry kisses Ally and it's an image that I always am delighted to see. We next see them dismantling the snowman. Ally has on the snowman's hat and glasses (or would that be Larry's hat and glasses? :-) and they begin kissing each other again. And once again, all is right with the world.

Now obviously, there are questions still left unanswered. Like, what happened between Larry and Sam? Did they come up with an agreement of some kind? Maybe Larry isn't really back and this is all another one of Ally's hallucinations!!! I don't think so but you never know. And Ally and Larry moving in together? Hmmmm, personally, I love the idea. We don't know how long we have Robert for so we kind of have to speed up their relationship. Some fans have expressed concern over this, which is understandable, but I love the idea for purely selfish reasons. Ally & Larry living together increases the chances for more bed scenes, after all :)

Well, the future will take care of itself. For now, I'm just glad that Larry is back home where he belongs.
