Tryin’ a’ fight the way I feel I go jello when you smile I start blushin’ -- my head rushin’
I might melt down from the heat If ya’ look my way one more time I’m gonna go out of my mind Whatever you do . . .
Don’t go and get me started Don’t you dare drive me crazy! Don’t do that to me baby!
“Ok, guys, let’s try this one more time. I simply want to pick up from where we left off on Thursday. Calista, Ally and Larry have just been reunited. The love of your life is back! Let’s try the kiss one more time, with a little more passion this time. We really need to get to the rest of the scenes, if we’re going to finish up this weekend,” David said, with the slightest hint of impatience in his voice. The crew had recreated the wedding reception in the bar and they had been trying to shoot the opening scene for the past hour. But every time Robert took Calista into his arms, her body stiffened and the kiss between the two of them had been stilted and completely passionless. Take after take, Calista simply could not let herself go enough to recreate the magic that had happened on Thursday. She was so afraid of doing so, afraid that if she did, she would, again, lose control, something she had been determined not to do. But she was finding it increasingly difficult. Robert was being his most charming and cooperative; and he kept looking into her eyes with those liquid, brown eyes of his and was, without a word, telling her how much he wanted her. It was only through the most supreme of efforts that Calista had been able to resist him. The result, however, was less than satisfactory, in David’s eyes.
My heart pumpin’ to the max I’m such a sucker for your eyes They permanently paralyze Whatever you do . . .
Don’t go and get me started Don’t you dare drive me crazy! Don’t do that to me baby!
You go my heart under attack You give me shivers down my back D’ya have to walk the way you do? I get weak just watchin’ you Whatever you do . . .
“This is fun,” he thought to himself. He knew that the gentleness of his kiss to her lips had been Calista’s undoing. She never had been able to resist it, especially when he combined it with an insistent touch on her back. He grinned and couldn’t wait for his next opportunity. “All right, let’s move on. Jane, this is where you come in ok,” David said to Jane, who was hovering on the edge of the dance floor. And the action again started. Robert held Calista lightly in his arms and she looked up at him. “Larry, how, why, what, what in the world are you doing here?” Ally could barely get the sentence out around her stuttering. “I thought you were in Detroit? How did you know I was here?” Larry smiled down at Ally and started to reply, when he caught sight of Elaine, headed their way with a very determined look on her face. “Let’s continue this somewhere else where we won’t have any prying ears, or interested onlookers, shall we?” Larry asked, looking directly at Elaine as she stood there with her hands on her hips. “Well, really Larry, don’t you think you owe us all an explanation,” Elaine said. “I mean, after all, you left us here to pick up the pieces when you left.” “E-laiiiinnne,” Ally said, with a warning tone. Then she took Larry by the hand and said “Let’s go,” and the two of them left Elaine and everyone else in the bar standing there watching them walk out the door. “Robert, I don’t know what you’re trying to pull, but you’d better stop it!” Calista said, pulling away from Robert, once the cameras had stopped and the attention of most of the cast and crew was on setting up for the next scene. Robert smiled easily, saying, “Just trying to get a good take, like David wanted. What do you think I was trying to do?” he asked innocently. “Don’t think I don’t know, Robert. I’m just telling you it’s not going to work. I meant what I said before,” and she turned her back on him and walked over to where they were preparing for the next scene, to take place in her office. Robert just grinned at her back and chuckled to himself. His plan appeared to be working - he was definitely starting to get to her.
